Following the sudden cancellation of Hulme festival, we’ve managed to sort out a last minute gig at The Gallery in Chorlton (formerly Abode).

Fat Out Fest at Islington Mill next weekend…

Next weekend Fat Out Til You Pass Out take over Islington Mill for a veritable feast of audio madness over 2 days including Mothlite, Stig Noise, and Nasdaq, as well as a few bands you might have seen at MOF events, such as Gnod, Manatees and the noise band from Bletchley, Action Beat! Mind on Fire Nook Sessions – Every Last Sunday!

Back once again, MOF will be holding it down for our regular monthly session at the Nook in Chorlton on Sunday… You all know the script by now. If you like your tunes varied and think the ideal way to top off a Sunday evening is to see people falling over themselves shouting along to Pump Up The Jam then you have found your night. Dust of your dancing shoes and get yourself to the bar!!

Ghostpoet at Deaf Institute in October.

We are proud to announce that in October we will be collaborating with the mighty Now Wave and Hit & Run to bring Mercury nominated Ghostpoet to play the Deaf Institute in Manchester. His ‘Peanut Butter Blues and Melancholy Jam’ LP has been on heavy rotation here at Mind on Fire HQ and we’re working on a stellar supporting lineup too. Tickets are quite rightly flying out so make sure you grab one soon!

Drum Music at Dry Live!

Tonight sees Drum Music back in Dry Live for their regular monthly session (every 3rd friday!), a summer special with Martin Lamb from Mind on Fire on guest selections. With residents Ken Evil, Rufmouth and Darka all representing, it’s a real bargain at £3 before 12 so make sure you get in there early…

Our good friends Nedry will be travelling up from London to play and you can catch sets from Mind on Fire residents as well as Herbal Sessions, Dub Smugglers and others. Good music, good food, workshops and more, all in Hulme Park on 30th July!

Now Then presents…

Over the summer our friends at Now Then are hosting a series of monthly events at Dulcimer in Chorlton. This Thursday you can find Manchester’s Broken Bubble digital label showcasing a whole range of local electronica and bass music, and next month sees Mind on Fire take the reigns, with sets from Danny Drive Thru, Dayse andAver, Vieka and Zoir. And its great value for money too, you choose how much to pay!

Trojan Horse curate Ruby Lounge headline show…

This Saturday Manchester’s prog nouveau revolutionists and beard enthusiasts Trojan Horse curate a headline show at Ruby Lounge, with support from the fantastic From The Kites Of San Quentin and Cyril Snear, as well as DJ’s from the Kites affiliated clubnight This City Is Ours til the wee hours. All for a fiver, see you there!
