Consisting of musicians, DJs, producers, and other creative types, all united by a relaxed and open minded approach to making and sharing our music we have been organizing gigs and clubnights under the Mind on Fire moniker since September 2004, aiming to showcase a wide range of unseen local talent and also provide an alternative to a music industry often riddled with hegemony and unoriginality, as well as working with more established artists from both Manchester and further afield.

Essentially we are proud of our city and proud of the wealth of talent that walk the streets every day. All of our projects are about people being able to express themselves in a creatively supportive and positive atmosphere, whilst getting their music out to crowds they may not otherwise. Although we are not solely a club night, our events are integral in what we do, they allow you to experience new Manchester talent in it’s rawest form – LIVE. Also an integral and central component to our events is our resident visual artist Cycloptic who is known to completely transorm whichever venue he enters.

Mind On Fire is not about egos. We are lucky enough to be working with acts we enjoy as fans and whose music we are passionate about. In the time we have been working as MOF we have continued to keep things as affordable as possible, and haven't taken a penny of personal profit; any cash we do make goes back into the collective’s current projects, namely releasing compilations of independent artists.

In the summer of 2006, we launched MindOnFire Records, releasing our first CD MOF001, a compilation of tracks by 12 Mancunian artists that had been involved in some way with the collective over that previous year. We also released a free limited edition sampler CD in Spring 2007, featuring tracks by acts that had played a series of MOF events at Manchester’s Mint Lounge. Keep an eye out in 2009 for exclusive collaborations on the website and impending releases.
