13/02/13 X Futureproof feat. Omas X Aver

Our weekly social continues at Soup Kitchen with a different guest every week throughout February.

This week we have The Natural Curriculum’s own Omas and Aver gracing the decks. These two need no introduction and have been the backbone of some of Manchester’s finest hip hop productions over the last few years. Support as usual will come from MOF residents Joe Who? and Dan Nation.

Reach!

You know the drill, on the last Sunday of every month, MOF Selectors takeover The Nook for 6 hours of eclectic music and occasional sillyness.

Each month we are joined by a guest selector from across Manchester’s musical spectrum – with Denis Jones, K.J Ill of PYC Sessions and Chunky passing through in recent months.

For the first session of 2013 we invite Jonny Dub from the Hoya:Hoya famly to join us. A great chance to catch easily one of the best party DJs in Manchester in a nice cosy setting.

Check his mix for Fabric from last year here:

The Nook’s famous roast dinner is available during the day, with MOF taking over from 6pm til late.

Expect music spanning genre, tempo, space and time.

Where are You? New Sykes!

Over the last 2 years, The Natural Curriculum have been making moves with vinyl releases from Dayse and Aver, the TNC LP, and Aver’s solo EP. Recently Bill Sykes added to that with his new album as a digital download. Basically if you’ve not copped it, make sure you get over to itunes and sort that out. In the meantime check the new video for the track Where Are You. Beats by Chalk. Video by Scott Hallows from STANdbY FILMS.
