On Saturday the 15th of September Mind on fire will be joining the This City is Ours crew’s monthly nite at Wahlbar in Fallowfield and playing a few tunes.

Headlining will be Cogidubnus with his 2nd ever live show, if you didn’t catch him at Blew last month this is a top chance to see him in action!

Tomorrow sees the return of annual musical extravaganza Sounds From The Other City and we are taking over both floors of The Old Pint Pot with This City Is Ours. There are a few tickets left but we expect it to sell out so move fast if youre thinking of coming.

Sounds From The Other City!

For this year’s Sounds From The Other City, we are collaborating with This City Is Ours, and here is our lineup, in no particular order. We’re very excited about it. We’re bringing the mighty Shigeto back to Manchester, and Brainfeeder’s Lapalux comes up from London, as well as Brighton’s Ghost Mutt and Alphabets Heaven. Debian Blak from Leeds, and King Capisce from Sheffield are joined by the cream of Manchester music and a full residents cast from This City Is Ours and Mind on Fire.

Baptists and Bootleggers Launch Party on Thursday

New Manchester based record label Baptists and Bootleggers launch their debut vinyl release this Thursday at Islington Mill. The white vinyl compilation features 5 tracks by Borland, Vei, Stagger, Go Lebanon and Daffyd Jones, and comes in beautiful packaging with bespoke artwork and short stories, and is FREE, i repeat FREE at the launch this thursday.

Groovement show

After our lovely little allday BBQ with American Men at Hope Mill on Saturday, we rolled through the Groovement studio on Sunday, for what turned out to be a pretty hilarious show with the Borland / Bad Science boys, Phil Bloodboy and Mind on Fire’s Dan Nation. We are super excited to announce we will be teaming up with our friends Bad Science and This City Is Ours for a gryeat little alldayer and BBQ at Hope Mill on Saturday 5th June… Headlined by Lucky Me’s American Men, with support from Borland, MOF Band and Kites, as well as much more to be announced, its set to be an awesome little party. The brand spanking new Borland EP containing live recordings from various radio appearances is now available on their Bandcamp page, so get over there and check it out… Its a name your own price type of thing, so you can even have it for free if you’re a cheapskate!
